Yes Total War Gamer, I had thought about that but that is to much work if i want to be able to quickly switch between mods. The way I used before had something to do with redirecting the shortcut on the desktop by adding -mod='modfoldername' to the end of the path, but every time recently it has just produced an error when I try to start the mod. Basically it was supposed to load any file in the mod folder instead of the file of the same name(and place) in the vanilla folder. If anyone knows anything about this method please help. The mod which I was trying to use needed its.cfg file and had to be started with its own ms-dos application. The way i fixed it was to created the mod folder with all the mods data in my main folder. C: Program Files SEGA Medieval II Total War so that there was now C: Program Files SEGA Medieval II Total War Westeros. Then I placed the MS-DOS and the Westeros.cfg in the main folder and could now start the mod without overwriting the files. Best Answer: It really depends on what kind of mod you are going for. Overall, the method that works for all mods is to copy your data folder. And leave it on desktop (rename as original data), and then just install the mod into your copied data folder. Anytime you want to change back, just switch the data files. EDIT: I think I know what your getting at. So you are saying that switching between mod, and vanilla is too slow (as it is such a big file). So you want to redirect the shortcut to a new folder? Okay, The problem with what you are doing, is that the shortcut takes you to the application. Not the data folder. You need to alter the actual application (the icon in the MTWII folder). To do this, which I am not completely sure I know how to do, would to Copy the Medieval II Total War Folder itself, instead of the data folder. And then change the name of that one to MOD, or something else. And then alter that Data, and create a shortcut for the application in that folder, to go on your desktop. I am not very familiar with that kind of modification, as I usually only get that from 'professional' mods. Though, I am good with computers, and that should do it. If there are any problems with that, then I don't think I can help you.
